Selector Spread Wixoss 04.1 – Meeting Tama Again

Well, now that the site is mostly fixed. Its time to do some blogging. Because I’m behind by miles again. But, what else is new? lol

Anyway,  for those who are waiting for it.

Finally, TAMA IS HERE! And she can  meet Ruu!

Though, she isn’t very happy about it.  (Mayu, you suck. ><)

Selector Spread Wixoss 03 – Setting the Stage

This episode is quite slow. But, it doesn’t mean it isn’t interesting. Quite a lot of the character motivation was explored, plus few teaser hints; as well as the awaited reunion at the end.

So let’s start with the most exploration and one that was eagerly anticipated. The question that was on everyone’s mind at the end of S1.

I. What the heck happened to Tama?

Selector Infected Wixoss – BD special 01

I’m supposed to be reviewing episode 3 today. But, I’m not on the right mind-set to write depressing stuff. So instead let’s review something funny.

Wait. Funny in WIXOSS?!

Night have you drunk some cool-aid recently? Have you watched the latest episode? Akira just got more psychotic ( yes, its possible).  And the world has once again confirmed that it enjoys fucking with Ruu~ just because.

Are you sure you are describing the right setting? How can WIXOSS be WIXOSS without the schadenfreude derived from watching it?

Night thinks it over.

….

….

The BD special does enjoy poking fun at Ruuko so equilibrium restored. So  yey?!

(Note, I didn’t draw this nor did I translate it. This is a video special from the BD and credits go to Asenshi for the translation. If you want the video, you can get if from their site.)

What is this for then?

Me. Having too much fun and messing around for the heck of it of course.

In any case, let’s enjoy the Midoriko-san and Piruluk-tan show!

Selector Spread 02 – Ambivalent Pairings

We begin this episode with talking about a “MASTERMIND”.

Naturally, they meant Mayu, the mysterious girl in the white room. Unfortunately, the only known way of corresponding to Mayu is to become an LRIG. Something which is kinda a no-go. (unless your wish is to be an LRIG in the first place, then please do so and give us the juicy hints.)

As for me, I think there is an easier solution to their problem. WIXOSS is a card game right? It even have an official novel guide which is suspiciously true to life. Why don’t you girls  investigate the company making this cards. A simple google will at least get you the higher-ups. And if you’re lucky you gals might even be able to pull some publicly available information regarding said higher-ups.

<psst> Remember, be on the look-out for trips to foreign locales such as Egypt or some tragic event in their background.

…. Oh wait. Wrong series. ^^

Still, I’m suspicious of the company making these cards. And some of the dropped information in the novel is starting to look ominous. Like the seven loses bursting-thing due to WIXOSS factor that has been stated.  Considering the fact that failed Selectors can become Selectors again. I won’t discount that.

….

….

This game is looking more rigged by the minute. Fortunately, Ruuko is aware of this as well as we can see from her monologue.

Selector Spread Wixoss 01 – Black and White Shadows

When people dared you to do a make some posts about the one of the show that you are anticipating this season but is embarrassed to let people know, the right answer is to say no.

Not.

Sure, why not?

But, of course, my impulse control sucks so there we go.

Not that I believe Wixoss is embarrassing. Its one of the interesting TCG anime out there (Though, I suppose, it’s not really a TCG anime since the card battle appear to be superfluous …. which may or may not be the reason why I like it.) Still, I do believe, I’ll enjoy blogging it solely for the pathos and the atmosphere.

Plus, I think I threw my pride out of the window a long time ago when I publicly admitted to watching Saki and Sailor Moon. But, between Psycho Pass, Log Horizon and Unlimited Blade Works, this is probably the odd one out of the bunch. ^^

Moon Pride! Fangirling edition!

I’m supposed to be working on episode 2 then I saw this.

First thought while watching that? Who the hell animated this and why aren’t they working on CRYSTAL?!

Because seriously, this is simply marvelous. The moment I knew of its existence, I’m a couple thousand yen lighter courtesy of Amazon. It’s just that awesome!

Which is why I’m going to be fangirling on the song.  And bitterly wondering why isn’t the rest of the series animation like this.

Sailor Moon Crystals 01- Usagi is not Usagi is still Usagi?

Whatever you do, don’t watch this in 1020 definition. You will hate it. On my first watch, I can’t get over how I LOATHED Usagi’s character design that I quit after the first ten minutes of seeing it.

And this is coming from someone who really really wants to like this anime.

Anyway, after sleeping on it and putting it out of my mind, I re-watched it again due to my friends insistence.

. … And what do you know, it wasn’t the horrible abomination that I thought it was. And the only difference I could find was my friend used 720p and I used 1020p. On my entirely subjective interpretation between the two, the 720p is a lot grainier which made all the difference.

Meh.

Though, I wouldn’t discount that I might have lowered my expectations in the subsequent hours which might account for the improvement ^^

Anyway, enough rambling, time to get on toward the episode.

<Warning heavy nostalgia filter and digression on everything ahead>

P.S. This is spoiler heavy because I assume everyone is already familiar with the plot.

Blade and Soul First Impression ( The anime of the game in-name only)

Blade and Soul.

Or one of the two anime, I’m checking out because I want to play the game it was based on. But, don’t knock it off, the short description sounds exciting. Here, copied straight from anichart.

A thousand-year peace is coming to an end. The fledgling Wind Empire strives to overthrow the fading Stratus Empire and unite the four continents in a new era of equality–albeit an equality enforced by military might. Amid this mortal trouble and strife come the ancient Darksiders, with the nefarious Jin Seoyeon as the harbinger of their return… and with the people fighting among themselves, there may be no one to oppose their evil plans and save the world. “

Sounds amazing right?

Its just a damn shame that I can’t find a trace of this premise in the first episode. Its so different that I actually wondered if I got the wrong summary. So I did more googling and found another one. This time from MAL.

Aruka is an assassin for the Clan of the Sword. She’s on a journey to find the woman Jin Valel, who killed her master Hon. Jin is a demon-like woman who controls the Energy of Chaos and kills without feeling – not unlike how Aruka has learned to kill in her work as an assassin. On her journey, Aruka encounters three strange women, each great warriors in their own right, and grapples with her slain master’s wish that she leave the life of an assassin behind.

Meh. This one actually fits with the episode. If I read this first though, I won’t be seeing the anime.  But, since I already watched it, might as well put my impression.

Akuma no Riddle – First Impression (Edgy Yuri at its Finest)

Well, this would be my yuri fix for this season, now that Saki Zenkoku is ending.

In my defense, the premise sounds very interesting. Apparently, there is a “black class” which would be composed of 13 students; 12 of those student would be assassins while the remaining student will be their target.

While reading that, I thought. Who is this person and why does it need 12 assassin to kill her? Is she an unbelievable badass or something? Or perhaps this is a weird ritual in assassin school? Like the first person to kill the target wins <insert something here>.

Considering I have not read the manga, I’m eager to find out.

Saki Zenkoku Episode 11 – Threat

Wait. Episode 11? Aren’t you supposed to be writing Episode 10?

I am. I tried. But, sadly the awesomeness of Saki defied petty thing such as causality and you are seeing my review of Episode 11 before 10. ^^
